children’s recitals, or even those embarrassing moments you don’t
want anyone to know about, camcorders have been a part of all of
them. In 1983 Sony releases the first camcorder, the Betacam
system, for professional use. Camcorders were so popular at one
time that they even inspired the creation of a T.V. show about
funny home videos hosted by the now late bob saget. The first
versions of the camcorder were tape-based and recorded analog
signals onto videocassette tapes. As time went on and digital
recording became more of a norm, the tape was replaced with storage
media (internal flash memory and SD cards). Now...almost all of us
just use our smartphones.
