recipe for fruitcake in ancient Rome consisted of ingredients like
pomegranate seeds, raisins, and pine nuts, mixed with barley. then
in the 18th century Fruitcake made with sugar and butter was banned
for some time in Europe because it was too rich and tasty. and
according to a recent survey: 15% don't like it...15% have never
tried it...8% will only eat if it's homemade...8% throw it
out...and 8% say it's the worst christmas food in existence
