the world have their own version of the ice cream sandwich. In
Vietnam, street vendors sell ice cream stuffed between two
layers of bread. In Iran, pistachio or rose-flavored ice
cream is sandwiched between two thin wafers. Here in
America...The original ice cream sandwich sold for a penny in 1900
from a pushcart in the Bowery neighborhood of New York. Soon,
pushcarts popped up around the city and country during the summer
months selling the portable treats. By 1940, grocers sold
sandwiches made with crispy wafers. and every ice cream truck sold
'em too
