goodbye/fun facts....national drive thru day...First opened in 1948
in Baldwin Park, CA...it was an In-N-Out Burger. It set itself
apart from the existing drive-in-style eateries at the time by
offering a keep-your-motor-running, drive-thru option (according to
fast-food historians, only one restaurant had tried that before, a
place in Missouri, which didn’t make it). Today...there are more
than 211,000 fast-food restaurants in the United States... although
drive-thru format was pioneered in the United States for banking
services. Hamburgers sold for just 18 cents at some of the first
drive-thru restaurants.
Restaurants, coffee shops, liquor stores, pharmacies, and many more
services utilize drive-thrus for quick service.
